Meet the Team!

Alison:

I am the Library’s Administrative Assistant. I handle ordering supplies, distributing mail, preparing documents and other administrative tasks. I love the natural light in the library and the quiet study spaces, which to me encourage focus and consideration. I am looking forward to seeing the traffic come through the library this year, whether that be a rush of students during exam week, a guest speaker or members of the community looking for a good read – seeing the libraries resources utilized and people discovering all there is to offer (often for FREE) makes me very happy.

Jessica:

I am a newly-out-of-college, archery-obsessed Library Assistant 1 for MHC! I mainly handle check-outs/check-ins and AV equipment and I promise I can also give tech assistance that is only a little bit sketchy… 😉 All jokes aside, I am super happy to be here with you all and I’m really looking forward to an exciting second year at the Vera Bracken Library.

Jennifer:

I am one of many Library Assistant 1s that focus mainly on the circulation of material and multimedia equipment. My favorite thing about the library is all of the windows and being able to help all of the learners we interact with. I’m looking forward to the events that are held throughout the academic year and meeting new people!

Laura:

I am a Library Assistant 1 in the Vera Bracken Library at the Medicine Hat College.  As one would have to, working in a library, first and foremost: I love the books!  I also love helping and assisting students and community members, and building displays.  What I am looking forward to the most this school year is the opportunity to serve my first year on the display committee, and with that, the ability to use my creativity more!

Danika:

I’m a Library Assistant 1 here at MHC! I’m quite new here, but so far I love the calming and inclusive atmosphere that the Vera Bracken Library brings. I’m most excited for growing myself personally, as well as meeting new people!

Terina:

It is nice to see new and returning faces! I am a Library Assistant 1 at Vera Bracken, and I am excited about the library’s new look! The new poster printer is an exciting addition to the library! Come and check it out!

Colleen:

I am a Library Assistant 1, and brand new to the team this year, working in the evenings and on weekends. As a college student, I loved spending time in the library, so I am thrilled to now get to help learners find out everything this space has to offer! I am most excited this year to learn more about the cool technology we have in the library, like the 3D printer. I want to see someone make something awesome!

Jocelyn:

I work evenings and weekends as a Library Assistant I. We have changed a lot this year, mostly in terms of the spaces, and I am looking forward to seeing how our students use the new areas.

Karina:

I am the student position Library Assistant 1. I love working in a place that is always so bright and open. I am most excited to see what this year has waiting for myself and all the other students at MHC!

Kathy:

I work as a Library Assistant 1 on the Brooks campus! Pretty much anything and everything, we can help you with in the Library. I am excited to see what happens with the EBSCO Solar Power Grant we received for Brooks campus this year!

Linda:

On the Brooks campus I am a Library Assistant 1. I am happy to see all the new students on campus, and can’t wait to help them out at the desk.

Courtney:

I am new to the Brooks campus Library Assistant 1 team. I am so happy to be working in the Library, because of what libraries mean to me. I am excited to help students access resources and open up their minds to all the possibilities right at their fingertips through Library resources!

Rhonda:

I am the newest addition to the team, and work on Information Services. I am so excited by the friendliness of the team here at the Library, and excited about the year ahead of us. It should be great!

Kimberley:

I’m a Library Technician and a member of the Info Services team here at MHC; I’m also helping students/faculty out with their copyright questions this semester. I love the library for its enthusiasm and welcoming atmosphere and I’m excited to see the students learn and evolve this year!

Carly:

I am the technology specialist and I love being able to work with various different forms of technology. This year I am excited about some of the new changes coming up, one in particular, but it’s a secret. Shh.

Anne:

I am part of the Information Services team, and a Library Technician at Vera Bracken. Looking forward to helping you at the Service Desk.  We have lots of tools, tips and tricks that might make your assignments less stressful so please stop by and ask us!

Denise:

Hi – I am a part of the Information Services team and considered the “APA guru”.  It is great to see the library filled with students and especially the new open seating area of the library; it is so well used!  The part of my job I most enjoy is working with students and answering your questions about citing and finding information, so please stop by the desk and ask!

Adrian:

Hi! I am the instruction librarian and business liaison at Vera Bracken Library. When I think about teaching,  I use this motto: “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn” Xunzi

Danya:

Hello to everyone, and welcome to another year at the Library. I am the Instruction and Engagement Librarian, liaison for Health Sciences and Trades, and I work on the Information Services team. I am looking forward to seeing student utilize the areas we have created for them, and to gather feedback on how we can improve our offerings. See you around the Library!

Michelle:

I am the Manager, Library Services, which means I head an extraordinarily diverse and talented team of Library Assistant 1s, while also being part of the Information Services team. I work in two beautiful libraries, with teams of the most dedicated and hardworking individuals I have had the pleasure to work with, matching the friendliness and enthusiasm I see from our MHC Faculty, Staff, and Students, as well as our Community Members! I am most excited to see how our students will respond to our spaces this year, and what new services we can offer them to assist with their studies!

Joanne:

I am the Technology and Resource Librarian at Medicine Hat College, and Library liason for the Arts. I am really excited by the new open area in the Library, which has allowed us to offer more group study space while creating quiet study options on the other side of the Library. I am also excited by the new database offerings we have this year. Take a look at our website and explore the different options!

Jason:

I am the Director of Teaching and Learning, and I am passionate about libraries, learning, and leadership.  I love walking onto this gorgeous campus every day, where I get to support people who are service-oriented and mission driven.  I am most excited about involving students in the design of a solar garden at our Brooks campus.

I'm the Manager, Library Services. I head up an amazing team of talented individuals who are here to help assist students in their education pursuits, teaching them the usages of the library and the resources offered. I can, on occasion, be found on the information services desk, or on the main services desk.
